English as a Second Language (ESL)

The Adult Education ESL program provides ESL instruction from Beginning ESL Literacy through Advanced ESL Levels.  All ESL students receive instruction in language skill areas including reading, vocabulary, listening, writing, grammar, speaking and pronunciation as well as compute literacy and career pathways.

Being able to speak, read, write, and understand English is a major component to becoming a U.S. citizen.  The KCKCC ESL program can start you on the path to earning your citizenship through specialized civics instruction.  Lessons will cover rights and responsibilities of citizenship and will prepare students for the USCIS (United States Cultural and Immigration Services) Citizenship Test.

In addition to classroom lessons, students have access to Burlington English which is our web-based resource for learning, making content accessible on all devices.  This allows students to access their course anywhere, and any time – in class or away from school.
